MAJOR SUBURBS SURROUNDING MIAMI

Miami, an international city in Florida, is known for various things such as tourist and vacation destination courtesy to its wealthy suburbs and neighborhoods. Listed below are some of the major suburbs surrounding the City.
 
1. Key Biscayne- This a quiet residential place with fantastic resorts, beautiful beaches, and parks. It is the place to be if you are looking for a relaxed environment away from the city. The suburb stretches out to the Biscayne Bay which is home to the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserve.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park- This Park in the Southern region of Key Biscayne is home to the historic Cape Florida Lighthouse which happens to be the oldest structure constructed in 1825 in Miami Dade County. Besides that, the Park offers guided tours to the Lighthouse, playing grounds and bicycle rentals.

​3. Virginia Key- It is an Island located to the north of Key Biscayne which hosts the Virginia Key Beach Park. The Island is owned by the city of Miami under is managed and maintained by the City of Miami Parks and Recreational Department in partnership with the Virginia Key Beach Trust.

​4. Fisher Island- The artificial Island is only accessible through the use of a private yacht or ferry. It is one ideal place hold private events and vacation. It is known for a luxurious kind of lifestyle.

​5. North Village Bay- This is a community comprised of three Islands with beautiful restaurants and an appealing view of the Biscayne Bay. Over the years, North Village Bay has built its reputation on providing fresh seafood.

​6. Dodge Island- Located close to Downtown Miami, this artificial Island is the home of the Port of Miami. The Island formed as a result of joining three islands has terminals for both cruise ships and cargo ships.

​7. North Beach- To the northernmost part of Miami City is the North Beach neighborhood with affordable restaurants, a well-maintained beach and everything else one may be looking for on a beach. It is here to find the Normandy shores island.

​8. Bal Harbour- This a village for the wealthy. The shops here sell some of the most luxurious products, and so are the hotels and restaurants. The beach here is also private and can only be accessed through a hotel or club. To the west of Bal Harbor is Bay Harbor Islands where Indian Creek Country Club is located.

​9. Upper East Side Miami- This neighborhood caters to both suburban and midtown lifestyle. Found in between Little Haiti and Little Havana, the place caters a good view of the bay plus the breathtaking experience of being close to water.

​10. Wynwood- It is well known globally for matters arts and creativity. Murals, street arts, and graffiti are some of the things that characterize Wynwood.

​11. Venetian Islands- This comprises of a set of sic man made Islands in the City of Miami. They are connected to the Miami Beach by bridges.

​12. Coral Way- This an old neighborhood in Miami characterized with ancient architecture. However, some resorts and parks spark up the life here.

​13. Little Haiti- It is also known as Edison, Little River or Lemon City. Art and culture are at the core of this neighborhood ranging from dance, theatre, handicrafts, and galleries.

​14. Florida Keys- This chain of tropical Islands is superb for quite a mouthful of activities for all ages. The hotels and attractions make it suitable for a vacation destination or a fun day out with family or friends.

​15. Cuba- With its capital as Havana, Cuba is a country as well as the largest Caribbean Island. It is characterized by crystal white beaches and tobacco fields.

​16. Crandon Park- It is one of the largest Parks in Miami cherished by many for its offerings. The beach, however, is its principal attraction.

​17. Little Havana This little neighborhood is bloated with culture. Talk of food, cigars, art galleries and anything to do with Cuban culture can be found here.
